Why This Will Work for You!

We would all to find the magic pill that allows us to eat what we want without ever having to think about our weight again. Unfortunately, that is not reality. The truth is that naturally slim people think about their food choices all the time. The intent of The 48 Hour Pouch Reset is for you to see that your pouch STILL provides resistance when you choose the right foods.

The chicken used for the pouch test is not magic… THE MAGIC IS INSIDE YOU! It’s been there all along. The Pouch Reset renews confidence that you still have a valuable tool that will allow you to control hunger, volume, and your weight with protein centric meals filled with healthy vegetable carbs.

You can do this! We are here to help.

FAQ’s for the 48 Hour Pouch Reset

1. Can I have vegetables or sauce with my chicken?

NO, please read EVERYTHING again as you are missing the point. This isn’t supposed to be a ‘fun meal’ or a ‘delicious meal’, you are supposed to sit alone and THINK while you eat moist solid protein to FEEL the restriction in an attempt to IDENTIFY the resistance you have been ignoring. It’s meant to be a few minutes of serious self awareness.

2. What if I CAN’T eat chicken?

IF you cannot eat chicken, you can skip this part and go directly to The Inspire Diet, AS YOU ALREADY KNOW YOU HAVE POUCH RESISTANCE AND RESTRICTION. Congratulations, your pouch works!

3. I am a vegetarian, what can I eat instead of chicken?

You need to choose a firm or solid protein source such as Boca Burgers, grilled Tempeh, firm Tofu, or an Omelet instead. Everything else is the same.

4. Whew, I finally got all that chicken down but it took me almost an hour. Now what?

Again, you have missed the point of the test and reset. The idea is NOT to sit there and power through and consume all the chicken no matter how long it takes, you are supposed to sit and think while you eat and STOP when you begin to feel as if you don’t really want any more. Start over and try it again.

I need to lose weight of about 200 lbs. I had gastric bypass in 2093 but due to physical injuries gained it back and then some. I want to get back on track, can you recommend anything

        • Suzanne Shaw says:

The purpose of this is to confirm that you have not stretched your pouch or sleeve after a long period of regain or not following Bariatric eating guidelines. If you are looking for a way to lose weight, try the Inspire Diet.

      • Susan Thomas says:

I am 10 years out with 70 lb gain. Finish my 1 week pouch reset but was wondering if total liquids once a week would increase weightless?

        • Suzanne Shaw says:

I had my lap band in 2009, weighing 215 lbs. Lost 60 pounds. However, due to family matters, I just let everything go. I am ordering the stater kit. I read the articles, can you give me guidance on how to get back on track? Thank you

    • Suzanne Shaw says:

Hi Dawn! Step 1 is to make an appointment to see your Dr and make sure your Band is working and in tip-top shape. Then you can start with our Back On Track plan! Good luck!!

I did my gastric sleeve done in Nov 2013, but I didn’t really start to lose weight til about Jan 2016. I only enjoyed about 6 months of being at my target weight. I’ve since gained back 30+ pounds & very unhappy. I have a back injury so exercise is very limited. Will your pouch reset diet will work for me? I’m a total skeptic, especially cuz I haven’t changed my eating habits, and I still get sick whenever I try to eat regular food. I end up purging almost everytime. I’m very desperate to lose & keep off my weight but I’m not sure how now that I’m getting fat again.

    Lost & Frustrated

  6. Rhonda says:

The reset plan says to drink a low calorie shake so is it your own preference of a shake? Or only the Inspire shake? And what recipe do you use? Just use water? Can almond milk be used? And how much liquid do you mix with your shake? I downloaded and entered email but nothing states any of the things I’ve mentioned. Thanks for letting me know!

    • Suzanne Shaw says:

We wrote the 48 Hour Reset with Inspire in mind as it’s the best there is on the market for Bariatric nutrition. You are welcome to mix it any way that suits your taste as long as you do NOT add fruit, yogurt or other additions. Keep it easy and simple 🙂

The pouch reset was a game changer for me! I had RNY in 2001 with a starting weight of 347. I never got below 216 and ended up at 232 with regain. I started with the pouch reset which gave me a substantial weight loss the first week. That and the support I have received from everyone here have been incredible support, motivation, encouragement and inspiration for me to continue! I weighed in at 191 this morning, and I recently fit into size 14 jeans (began this journey in 30/32 pants). Please consider joining us on the journey – we have all walked this walk and are here to help you on yours! Will it be easy? NO! Will it be worth it? You bet your life it will!!!

I am close to 11 years out from an RNY. My lowest weight was 145, but my goal weight is 160. I am 5’8″ and didn’t think 145 fit my body structure. and was happier with at a tone 160. Within the last 2 years, I had a 49 lb. regain. I am determined not to have to buy any larger sizes than I am now!I started the reset yesterday and am down from 209 to 206.8 this morning and have not been hungry at all!

And I feel everyone of those pounds! I had planned on doing the 28 day Inspire but I was just reading the information on the 48 hr ReSet. Should the ReSet be done before the Inspire or are they the same ? Thank you
